Crèvecoeur-en-Auge, 1st - 8th August
For one week every August, the grounds and château at Crèvecoeur are transported back to the Middle Ages as historical groups, skilled craftsmen, professionals and enthusiasts recreate life as it would have been in Crèvecoeur in the middle of the 15th century. Historians and archeologists conduct meticulous research to ensure every scene is historically accurate and that visitors really do feel like they are witnessing the daily life of 600 years.

June-September, every Thursday
The Orne department is known as horse country thanks to its many equestrian centres, stables and stud farms, not least the national stud farm Le Haras du Pin.
The magnificent Colbert Courtyard is transformed into an outdoor theatre for these spectacular weekly shows, the actors being none other than the horses of the National Stud themselves! Stallions ridden or inhand, mares and foals running free alongside, even a donkey, all come on stage one after the other: a horse rears in the centre, while impressive carriages, heritage of the Haras du Pin, thunder by, the cobbles vibrating underfoot.
